Membership Benefits

  • By supporting your state association you indicate a higher level of dedication to your profession.
  • Membership in the AOMAM is synergistic.  Your membership dollars support the organization’s work, and the organization supports you professionally.
  • Membership dollars help fund the activities of the various committees. For example, Ruth Eaton heads the Public Relations committee.  Ruth has contracted with a professional PR consultant who is respected in the media and legislative press corp.  The PR consultant will assist the association in clarifying our key messages, train us on PR activities and groom a small group of spokespeople.
  • We have a strong legislative committee headed up by Bonnie Bolash and Barbara Hartwell.  The legislative committee is working on a how-to-get-involved legislatively guide for practitioners.
  • With our legislative efforts, there is strength in numbers.  We currently have a 42% membership base, but to be effective at the legislative level we need 65% membership with 80% membership carrying much more weight.
  • “A Guide To Acupuncture & Insurance In Minnesota 2007” CD containing
the ins and outs and pros and cons of insurance coverage for acupuncture.
  • A listing under “Practitioner Search” on the AOMAM website (professionals).A listing in our membership directory.  The directory is typically published
June/July and it is distributed to members, clinics and other health care providers.
  • A professionally done table-top display on Oriental medicine is available to members to use for various presentations.  A $200 refundable deposit is required.
  • Our newsletter, The Meridian, is filled with interesting/educational articles, and it will be mailed to you several times a year.
